Duties
MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
- Develop plans to support contingency situations or requirements and responds to external and internal stimuli in a manner to minimize interruptions to sustainment operations
- Review, implement and as necessary, create plans and programs, staff studies, and projects associated with short term, intermediate, and long-range objectives
- Support a wide range of exercise and actual contingency operations and inspections
- Form and lead ad hoc groups and prepare and deliver oral and written presentations
- Review intelligence information from available sources both classified and unclassified for subjects of AFMC interest
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) or equivalent. Specialized experience includes developing plans and programs that support contingency operations, and respond to and operate during short and long term manmade and natural disasters, force protection requirements, and operational requirements such as aircraft and engine surge operations.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to participate in the assessment and improvement of plans and programs.
2. Knowledge of program goals and objectives; the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones; methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events; and the relationship of the various directorate entities involved in overall program planning and execution.
3. Knowledge of safety, general security regulations, practices and procedures, security program directives to administer an administrative security program.
4. Skill in designing and conducting comprehensive studies and preparing solutions to resolve substantive problems and issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a major command program.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and negotiate effectively with senior analysts and management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
6. Ability to plan for, organize, and lead working groups, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with other employees. Ability to communicate effectively.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
