About This Role

This position is for a Division Director within the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Division of Gynecologic Specialties, at Emory University School of Medicine. The director will lead the clinical, administrative, educational, and research goals of the sub-specialist division, holding the faculty rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The role involves promoting and developing training and education programs, with a focus on minimally invasive gynecology surgery (MIGS) and supporting the growing Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) program.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive strategy and plan for the growth and development of the division’s clinical, educational, and research activities in partnership with the Chair of the Department
• Manage the Administrative, Finance, Research, and Clinical operations for the division in partnership with the Chair of the Department and Director of Administrative Operations
• Develop the division’s faculty with emphasis on quality, effectiveness, and efficiency
• Participate in the clinical services initiatives of the Emory Healthcare system as well as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
• Progress and develop new research opportunities for the providers in the division with focus on original research in gynecologic subspecialties
• Advance education missions for gynecologic subspecialties within formal fellowship programs to expand clinical expertise at Emory Healthcare
• Provide a broad spectrum of gynecologic care to medically complex patients
• Perform advanced gynecologic surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques
• Participate in the direct supervision and training of faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students

Requirements

• Terminal degree (MD or DO)
• Successfully completed a 4-year ACGME accredited obstetrics and gynecology residency program
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in obstetrics and gynecology
• Minimum of four years of leadership experience
• Minimum of eight years of experience
• Licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board will be required prior to commencement of employment
• Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to complement and expand the existing clinical and academic programs

Nice to have:

• Training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS)
