About the role
- Position: Production Manager (Steel Fabrication / Structural Steel)
- Location: Pekan Nanas, Johor
- Working hours: Monday to Friday | 8.30am to 5.30pm
- Salary (commensurate with experience): RM8,000–RM10,000 Basic Monthly + Bonus + Annual Increment + 18–21 days’ annual leave and comprehensive insurance coverage
- Duration: Permanent
- Industry: Steel Fabrication / Structural Steel Manufacturing
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead daily production operations to meet project schedules, quality standards and delivery targets.
- Plan production schedules, manpower, materials, machinery and equipment requirements.
- Supervise production supervisors, welders, fitters and production workers.
- Oversee steel fabrication activities, including cutting, welding, fitting, assembly and finishing.
- Review fabrication drawings and coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Procurement and QA/QC teams.
- Resolve production issues, minimize downtime and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor productivity, production costs, material wastage, overtime and rework.
- Enforce workplace safety requirements and drive continuous improvement.
- Track production KPIs and report project progress, risks and delays to management.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of production or fabrication experience, including team supervision.
- Experience in steel fabrication, structural steel or metal manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Good knowledge of welding, fitting, cutting, assembly and production planning.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of quality control, workplace safety and production cost management.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is required for work-related communication with China-based counterparts, suppliers and stakeholders.
