Planning and executing production priorities for manufacturing operations is the core of this leadership role, which also involves partnering with various departments. The position suits a hands-on leader who is comfortable on the manufacturing floor, developing supervisors and employees, and balancing daily demands with long-term goals.

- Manage assigned Production Department to attain plant, business unit and corporate objectives
- Develop production plan, direct production activities, and establish priorities to assure optimum use of equipment, smooth product flow and timely shipment of parts to the customer
- Develop a manufacturing plan for future operating periods by forecasting customer needs, taking into account current inventory levels and labor availability
- Support the manufacturing process by ordering raw materials and scheduling timely deliveries while maintaining required inventory levels of these materials
- Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment
- Maintain good communication to expedite the flow of information to all departments so adequate planning of equipment downtime and maintenance does not negatively impact the production needs of the facility
- Consult with engineering personnel relative to the modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and the quality of the product
- Assure customer service satisfaction by providing communication on changes in manufacturing, shipping and/or delivery of quality product
- Direct the activities of the Shipping/Receiving Department to assure proper inventory levels of both raw materials and finished good are maintained and proper storage provided thereof staging for on-time delivery to the customer
- Compile, store and retrieve production data
- Promote and enforce the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions within the facility
- Establish and maintain excellent labor/management relations
- Oversee fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures to assist in a union-free environment
