About the role
Role Objective (Outsourced)
To supervise and optimize day-to-day production activities in a pump manufacturing environment. This role integrates technical supervision, Lean manufacturing initiatives, and proactive equipment maintenance management to ensure zero downtime and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
- Shop Floor Supervision: Directly oversee machining centers, dynamic balancing stations, pump assembly lines, painting booths, and performance testing rigs.
- Asset Management & Service Bulletins: Execute and track Service Bulletins for all line equipment to ensure machinery is upgraded and maintained per manufacturer standards.
- Coordinate with maintenance to implement technical updates and equipment modifications.
- Spare Parts Management: Identify, forecast, and prepare the spare parts inventory required for machines on the production line to prevent downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Technical Design & Blueprint Analysis: Interpret complex machine drawings and utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, CREO, or SolidWorks) to review designs or design manufacturing fixtures.
- Lean & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead 6S audits, MDI board meetings, and Kaizen events.
- Utilize VSM to identify waste and improve flow.
- Waste Management: Supervise industrial waste segregation (metal chips, chemicals) and implement strategies to minimize production scrap.
- Operational Execution: Track KPIs (OEE, Quality-In process, On-time delivery) and manage shop floor manpower.
- Performance Testing: Supervise performance testing to ensure pumps meet the required Head and Flow performance curves.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and manage the shop floor during peak production periods.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical, Production, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience: 1–3 years in manufacturing (pumps or rotating equipment preferred).
- Software: Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD, CREO, or SolidWorks.
- Lean & Technical: Practical knowledge of 6S, Kaizen, Waste Management, and equipment maintenance scheduling.
