- About the Opportunity:
The Product Support Advisor - South Market supports category management and corporate initiatives to optimize product assortment and inventory within the South Market region. The role ensures alignment with corporate strategies while fostering positive supplier relationships and enabling sales staff through training and product updates. This position contributes to operational success by driving category initiatives, managing supplier negotiations, and supporting sales efforts.
- Responsibilities:
• Execute category management and related initiatives within assigned categories.
• Support corporate core suppliers and ensure category success.
• Communicate with planners, suppliers, brokers, sales teams, and customer service.
• Manage and promote local assortments to meet company goals.
• Maintain local supplier and broker relationships.
• Provide support and guidance to sales specialists.
• Facilitate corporate assortment training as needed.
• Conduct supplier reviews and negotiations following best practices.
• Negotiate supplier-funded customer pricing deviations.
• Manage local earned income programs and company earned income components.
• Collaborate with supplier category captains or advisors.
• Support inventory depletion and supplier negotiations for discontinuations.
• Drive results on focus categories and support promotional activities.
• Serve as primary contact for local sales and address related issues.
• Manage new item and vendor creation.
• Promote increased sales of company brands.
• Oversee category equities and market pricing with revenue management.
• Review sales and gross profit results alongside revenue management.
• Provide market and industry news updates to sales teams.
- Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in retail, wholesale, or distribution.
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience driving merchandising changes.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Proactive problem identification and resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Organizational and planning capabilities.
• Proficiency in merchandising processes and Excel.
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• $66,100.00 - $99,100.00.
• Eligibility to participate in the company’s incentive plan.
