About the Role

Our insurance client is seeking a Product Owner 1 to join the Personal Lines Insurance Professional Service Experience portfolio. This role will partner closely with two Product Owners to build and enhance the insurance professional endorsement experience .

The Product Owner will help translate business and customer needs into clear, actionable product requirements and support delivery from discovery through testing and implementation . The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an Agile environment, collaborating across business and technology teams, and turning complex customer problems into prioritized, valuable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map current-state and future-state process flows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Write and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements .
  • Partner with research and design teams to understand customer needs and create intuitive experiences.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, and delivery teams to support prioritization and execution.
  • Run test scenarios with end users, document findings, and validate that solutions meet customer and business needs.
  • Track issues, risks, decisions, and dependencies while escalating blockers appropriately.
  • Support senior Product Owners with backlog refinement, sprint planning, stakeholder communication, demos, and delivery activities .
  • Represent the voice of the customer and organization throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Work with stakeholders and LOB leadership to define, prioritize, and deliver features that maximize customer and business value.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog and ensure stories are clear, actionable, and delivery-ready.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, demos, retrospectives, and daily team activities .
  • Collaborate with technology, architecture, and delivery teams to develop a strong understanding of supporting systems and capabilities.
  • Help establish product priorities, roadmap inputs, and quarterly planning objectives.
  • Communicate product vision, priorities, expected value, and delivery expectations to stakeholders.
  • Analyze feasibility, cost of delay, business impact, and other considerations when evaluating product changes.
  • Understand and account for insurance industry, regulatory, and compliance requirements when prioritizing product work.
  • Support customer-driven design, usability testing, and user testing activities.
  • Conduct market and industry analysis to help ensure the product remains competitive and well-positioned.
  • Help monitor product health and balance short-term delivery needs with long-term product viability and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of direct experience working with Agile teams , with approximately 7+ years of overall business, technology, or consulting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Humanities, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar product-focused role .
  • Strong experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, process flows, and product documentation .
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product backlog management .
  • Ability to translate complex business and customer problems into clear requirements and actionable solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology audiences.
  • Ability to influence diverse stakeholders and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and drive solutions.
  • Experience with customer research, usability testing, UAT, or user testing .
  • Insurance industry experience is preferred, particularly Personal Lines .
  • Knowledge of insurance products, workflows, or portfolio environments is a plus.
  • Strong experimental mindset and ability to operate effectively in environments with ambiguity and uncertainty.
