About This Role
The Product Owner maximizes sustainable business value by translating the organization’s strategy into prioritized technology-enabled products and capabilities that address meaningful customer and business problems. This role involves working closely with various teams to ensure that delivery aligns with strategic intent and business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Own, manage and continuously refine the product backlog to reflect strategic priorities and delivery sequencing.
- Provide day-to-day execution leadership within the squad, ensuring work is well defined and appropriately prioritized.
- Translate initiatives into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and squad-ready requirements.
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and prioritization discussions within the squad.
- Drive the delivery of incremental outputs aligned to defined OKRs and measurable business outcomes.
- Track delivery progress and support visibility of value progression.
- Identify and escalate blockers, risks, dependencies, or constraints impacting delivery timelines.
- Translate business and stakeholder requirements into actionable backlog items.
- Partner with Architects and delivery teams to ensure feasibility and design alignment.
- Ensure squad delivery adheres to governance, risk, compliance, and architectural standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and work with stakeholders to implement improvements.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business, technology, product, finance or a related field.
- Agile, product ownership or delivery-related certification is advantageous.
- 5–8+ years’ experience in product ownership, business analysis, or related roles.
- Proven track record delivering complex initiatives across business and technology environments.
- Experience working in cross-functional agile teams, ideally within financial services or platform-based environments.
- Strong understanding of backlog management, agile execution, and delivery governance.
