About This Role
This Product Manager role will own the product opportunity across the journey of how biotech companies find, contract with, and pay their research partners. It is a build role focused on discovery, defining the product, and creating the strategy and roadmap. The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to define a product space rather than maintain an existing one.
Responsibilities
- Form the product strategy for the CRO and supplier side of the business
- Build a coherent thread through existing ideas and early work
- Define where the company should play in this market and communicate that story clearly
- Get in front of CROs, suppliers, and biotech customers to understand the space, friction, and value
- Work closely with internal teams and build on existing company knowledge
- Test opportunity areas across the CRO journey to determine customer and commercial value
- Plainly state when a hypothesis does not hold up, viewing early invalidation as a win
- Identify where durable commercial value exists and what a business model around it looks like
- Build a value narrative that holds up for both biotech and their partners
- Prioritize where the company has the best chance to win
- Sequence the work into a phased roadmap, making trade-offs explicit
- Partner hand in hand with CRO business leadership, owning the product while they own commercial and domain aspects
- Keep leadership current on discovery findings, including those that change the plan
- Partner with product development, data, engineering, sales, and client-facing teams to ship strategy
- Connect this work to adjacent capabilities already in the platform
- Translate discovery and strategy into defined, executable products and commercialization opportunities
- Stay involved through delivery, as this is not a strategy-only role
Requirements
- 5+ years in product management, with ownership of what gets built and why
- Meaningful knowledge of the CRO ecosystem and how it actually works
- Real zero-to-one experience, having defined a product space that was not already defined
- Strong discovery instincts, knowing how to validate or invalidate a hypothesis and willing to do the second
- Able to connect a customer problem to a commercial model and defend the prioritization that follows
- Comfortable in ambiguity and energized by a space that is still being defined
- Strong cross-functional communicator who can carry a strategy across product, engineering, data, and commercial teams
Nice to have:
- Product experience at a company serving CROs, or products built specifically for the CRO market
