Product Engineer II

About This Role

This Product Engineer role focuses on validating, improving, and regressing the functionality of Cadence's flagship Tempus signoff ECO solution to ensure a high-quality product. The engineer will work closely with R&D and senior product engineers to define specifications and enhance product quality for customers.

Responsibilities

• Validate, improve, and regress Cadence’s state-of-the-art Tempus signoff ECO solution product
• Work closely with R&D professionals and senior product engineers to define product specifications
• Collaborate with product release teams to enhance product quality, addressing the unique and complex needs of Tempus ECO customers and the market
• Develop product flows to improve quality and performance
• Define test methodologies and automate various processes to make the overall system efficient

Requirements

• MS in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering with 2+ years of experience, or BE/BTech in Electrical/Computer/Electronics Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience
• In-depth knowledge of Static Timing Analysis, Signal Integrity, Delay calculation, timing constraints, report_timing commands, timing analysis, Verilog, and debug skills
• Experience in Timing and power closure with ECO (automated and manual)
• Familiarity with front-end / back-end design flow knowledge
• Experience in Physical Design Implementation platforms like Innovus or similar tools
• Ability to envision automation requirements and execute them in a scripting language like Perl, TCL, Python, or C Shell
• Passionate, self-motivated, fast learner, and capable of significantly contributing individually as well as a team player
• Good communication skills for effective cross-geographic communications
• Knowledge of QA practices, methodologies, and procedures
• Problem-solving attitude: ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating teamwork and collaboration
• Ability to establish a close working relationship with both customer peers and management
• Ability to explore what’s possible to get the job done, including creative use of unconventional solutions
• Ability to work effectively across functions and geographies

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of timing sign-off solution experience, at block or full chip level
• Good understanding of scripting languages like TCL, Perl, and Shell
