About This Role
Developing new products from design through mass production is the core of this engineering role. The engineer reviews customer requirements, designs and develops products to meet those requirements, and supports continuous improvement in design, cost, and quality. This position involves coordinating activities with global teams and providing technical service to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop products that deliver the performance and quality preferred by customers
- Coordinate design and development activities with the Global Product Team and GID
- Prepare and translate engineering documents and drawings in accordance with Molex standards
- Support the fabrication of product samples for customer review and approval
- Support engineering RFQ activities by gathering BOM, process, and tooling costs
- Support the team in continuously improving quality and productivity
- (Senior level only) Support the team in resolving quality and production issues related to product design
- Lead or support end-to-end engineering changes, from the initial customer request or notice through production implementation
- Provide technical service and support to internal and external customers
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting throughout the design phase
- Build and test prototypes to achieve customer performance requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in design, cost, and quality
- (Senior level only) Resolve engineering issues related to quality, cost, and timing expectations by analyzing possible solutions and applying technical experience and judgment, with a moderate level of guidance and direction
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
- Minimum of 3 years of product development experience
- Good English communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience in wire harness assembly or molding
- Proficiency in CAD software; NX CAD is preferred, although experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other CAD tools is welcome
- Hands-on experience in design validation
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with PPAP, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans
- A strong sense of urgency and timeliness in root cause identification, issue resolution, and project implementation
- A proactive and vigilant approach to engineering change management, supported by robust action plans to achieve timely closure
- Testing, design, and development experience
- SAP experience
