About The Company Conveo.ai is a YC-backed AI platform for fast, affordable, and high-quality consumer and B2B research. Clients include Unilever, Google, and Orange. The team is rapidly growing from ~20 to ~120 people this year, offering early hires significant impact on company culture and direction.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Senior Product Engineer to own the full development cycle—from customer problem to shipped code. This role reports directly to the CTO and involves no product manager or designer handoffs. You will directly influence product direction and architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-stack ownership: Build and maintain the customer-facing interface (React/TypeScript) as well as backend infrastructure (AWS, APIs, PostgreSQL).
- Customer engagement: Join weekly customer calls to understand needs, interpret feedback, and translate it into product decisions.
- AI-first development: Leverage AI tools throughout the development lifecycle (reasoning, building, testing, documentation). Stay current with frontier models and integrate them into the product.
- End-to-end shipping: Deliver complete, polished features, including AI-powered ones using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and async pipelines.
What You Bring
- 6+ years full-stack experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Strong backend skills: API design, PostgreSQL, background jobs, async workflows.
- Solid frontend skills: React (architecture, state management, performance).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP): S3, media pipelines, deployment.
- Experience building AI-driven applications (prompt engineering, LLM APIs, fine-tuning a plus).
- Ability to lead projects from concept to launch independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Collaborative, autonomous mindset in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with React Router v7 or Remix.
- Experience at a small, client-facing SaaS company.
- Exposure to market research or qualitative research tools.
- Shipped agentic AI systems to production (familiar with failure modes, evaluations, tool design).
