About This Role
This engineering role drives innovative product solutions for aircraft cabins from the initial idea to implementation. Working with a team, clients, and partners, you will develop future-oriented technologies and contribute significantly to the successful further development of the product strategy.
Responsibilities
- Actively shape the cabin of the future by identifying new technologies, materials, manufacturing processes, and requirements
- Develop new product ideas from these insights together with customers, suppliers, and internal experts
- Systematically guide product ideas from the first concept to an evaluated innovation concept, utilizing creativity and evaluation methods
- Monitor technological and regulatory developments and build a strong network across company and industry boundaries
- Coordinate, review, and approve technical aspects as a specialist contact person, managing communication with manufacturers and suppliers
- Promote transparent collaboration within interdisciplinary teams
- Review and validate 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials, and be responsible for their approval
- Develop innovative concepts, prototypes, feasibility studies, and digital and physical mock-ups for aircraft cabin products
- Analyze customer requirements and regulatory specifications
- Create requirements and evaluate technical and economic solution approaches
Requirements
- Completed vocational training or university degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical field
- Several years of experience in product development and design
- Sound knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as sheet metal bending, plastic injection molding, milling, turning, fiber composite technologies, or 3D printing
- Very good knowledge of 3D CAD systems, ideally CATIA
- Experience with product development processes according to AQAP and common PLM systems
- Basic knowledge of aviation law and approval processes in the aviation industry
- Methodological knowledge in product development, especially APQP
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
