Product Designer

About This Role

This Product Designer role is for a highly skilled individual to join the DreamBox Learning team, focusing on interaction design, data visualization, and user engagement. The core of the job is translating complex concepts into sophisticated and compelling user experiences for DreamBox K-12 products. You will work directly with Research, Product, Engineering, Art, and Curriculum teams to deliver highly interactive and engaging content that is effective and easy-to-use.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with thought partners to solve problems, understand business goals, and explore innovative design approaches that speak directly to the user base
• Execute required design work in an embedded, Agile work stream to complete assigned Jira tasks in the time allotted each sprint
• Engage with other members of the Design team in building and reviewing interactive prototypes, wireframes, and other artifacts that demonstrate and document functionality

Requirements

• Proven expertise in developing creative, intuitive, and engaging experiences, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work
• Solid design approach that encompasses key components of product design: Product strategy, user research, feature validation, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, visual/UI design, etc.
• Proficient creating interactive prototypes, micro-animations, wireframes, and mockups with industry-leading design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, etc.)
• Communicate both verbally and written with precision, clarity, candor, and respect
• Able to clearly articulate and defend your thinking while maintaining flexibility in the design process
• Collaborate and engage in thoughtful critique with design peers
• Prior experience designing in game development or ed-tech space is a strong plus
• Minimum 3 to 5 years working in SaaS application design in an agile development environment, depending on experience
