About the role

Who you are

  • You're proactive, organized, and results-driven — an engineer who takes ownership of technical challenges and thrives on collaboration. Specifically:
  • A degree in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design Engineering
  • Mechanical or product design experience in a New Product Development environment
  • Strong command of plastics, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacture principles
  • Track record taking products through multiple lifecycle stages, concept to production
  • High proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or comparable CAD
  • Experience planning and executing verification and validation activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured engineering approach
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration across global teams
  • An appreciation for electronics, software integration, and user experience in consumer products
  • Nice to have: experience developing consumer products or household appliances

What the job involves

  • Turn concepts into products that reach millions of people. As a Product Design Engineer II on our New Product Development team, you'll own mechanical design from concept through production launch — balancing performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability at every step
  • You'll work from our Needham office as part of a global cross-functional team, partnering daily with Design, Product Development, Electrical Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain colleagues in the UK and China. If you like hard technical problems, driving execution, and seeing your work land in consumers' hands, this is that role
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies across the full product development lifecycle
  • Own engineering deliverables from concept refinement through detailed design, validation, and production release
  • Build robust, manufacturable designs grounded in strong engineering principles and DFMA methodology
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, specifications, and product documentation
  • Run engineering analysis, tolerance assessments, risk evaluations, and trade-off studies to drive design decisions
  • Plan, build, and test prototypes to validate performance, reliability, and user experience
  • Partner with Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Software, Quality, and Manufacturing to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support supplier engagement and manufacturing development to ensure successful industrialization
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement fixes for technical challenges across development and testing
  • Support product verification, validation, and regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and share engineering best practices across teams
