About This Role
This senior hybrid strategist role involves owning the new Product Brand Strategy service line end-to-end, helping clients define products and brand stories before development begins. You will lead discovery with stakeholders, define product scope and user flows, craft brand narratives, and present these findings to clients, ultimately handing off structured briefs to design and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery engagements with new and prospective clients alongside the technical manager, including stakeholder interviews, market and competitor research, defining target users and core problems to solve
- Turn ambiguous briefs into defined product scope, including use cases, feature priorities, user flows, and information architecture
- Own the brand narrative for new products, covering positioning, tone of voice, naming direction, and the product's core story
- Produce wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes that design and development teams can build from directly
- Run strategy workshops with clients, present findings and recommendations, and defend scope decisions to founders and senior stakeholders
- Partner with the sales team to help scope and price product strategy engagements as a paid offering
- Act as the bridge between a client's vision and what actually gets designed and built
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined experience across product strategy, UX, and brand/creative strategy, with credibility across the full range
- A portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and the ability to define direction from vague starting points
- Real experience presenting to and persuading client executives, comfortable defending thinking under pushback
- Confidence running workshops for discovery sessions, stakeholder alignment, and prioritization exercises, in person or remotely
- Wireframing and prototyping fluency (Figma or equivalent), demonstrating structural communication
- Education: Design/HCI, Business, Marketing/Communications, or a related field alongside equivalent experience
Nice to have:
- Agency-side experience
- Exposure to e-commerce/D2C brands
Important Details
- Success looks like: Within your first few engagements, clients trust you with the ambiguous front end of their projects, and design and development teams receive cleaner, better-scoped briefs due to your upfront work.
