Produce Clerk

About This Role

This full-time role involves sorting, displaying, removing, and replenishing fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The Produce Clerk maintains the department's environment by assisting members with product knowledge and customer service, ensuring all produce meets company quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to members in the produce department
• Answer questions, recommend products and safe handling tips, and assist members with finding products throughout the club
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery
• Ensure that all received produce meets or exceeds company produce standards
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to ensure optimal freshness and variety
• Ensure cases and display areas are fully stocked
• Keep the produce displays neat and clean
• Remove products that are no longer suitable for sale
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area
• Date and rotate all back stock items
• Ensure the storage area is organized and condensed daily
• Follow established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, and/or expired products
• Assist Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed
• Clean and sanitize all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases
• Generate signage for produce goods and perform price check functions when necessary
• Ensure all items are stocked and promotional plans executed
• Maintain visible accurate signage
• Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily
• Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department
• Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned
• Support the application of club policies, procedures and compliance
• Act with honesty and integrity and lead with the member in mind to address any and all concerns and to escalate any concerns, as appropriate
