Procurement Project Specialist

About This Role

Playing a direct part in a national fibre infrastructure programme, the Procurement Project Specialist turns complex tenders into decisions the company can stand behind. This role suits someone with a strong commercial judgement who can spot gaps in supplier bids and identify which offer genuinely stacks up, working with Project, Engineering, and Commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Turn technical requirements into clear tender scopes
• Set deliverables and evaluation criteria before launch
• Run RFQs and RFPs through supplier evaluation
• Compare pricing, exclusions, assumptions, and supplier capability
• Negotiate commercial terms with preferred suppliers
• Recommend suppliers for approval and contract award
• Own tenders from scope through supplier award
• Look beyond headline prices to hidden exclusions
• Work directly with Project and Engineering leads
• Build experience across major infrastructure packages
• Shape supplier recommendations with clear commercial evidence

Requirements

• Current or recent role focused on procurement
• Experience managing tenders through evaluation and award
• Confidence assessing bids and commercial terms
• Comfortable working with engineering and project stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Infrastructure, construction, or telecoms experience is beneficial
