About The Role
In partnership with the Australian Defence Force and supporting our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC), Ventia are currently seeking multiple positions for a Procurement Officer based out of the Bandiana (Albury / Wodonga region) Defence Base.
In this role, you will be responsible for processing purchasing transactions to maintain inventories of materials, equipment, supplies and products, as directed by the Commonwealth.
Other Key Responsibilities Include
- Perform procurement tasks using Commonwealth mandated information systems and technology.
- Ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement legislation, departmental policies, and processes.
- Maintain and store accurate financial records in accordance with Commonwealth systems and policies.
- Respond to customer and supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Contact suppliers to prioritize, schedule, or expedite deliveries and resolve issues such as shortages or late deliveries.
- Contribute to collaborative innovation through continuous improvement initiatives and participation in business improvement teams.
- Support Managers, Supervisors, and team members in the application of the Defence Maintenance Contract.
About You
To be successful in your application you must be an Australian citizen and be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Base Line.
Other Requirements
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience in a customer service role.
- Knowledge of purchasing systems, account management and reports ideal, but not required to apply for the position.
- Knowledge of ERP advantageous.
