Procurement Officer

About This Role

This Procurement Officer role at Matthew Walker involves coordinating the supply of all raw ingredient materials, communicating with suppliers, and collaborating with internal departments to manage production plans. The position focuses on developing and processing purchasing cost savings, maintaining continuous improvements, and supporting product development to meet innovation needs.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for price changes and updating SAP
• Manage cost saving initiatives and waste reduction
• Communicate any price changes to the Procurement Manager
• Obtain accurate data for the purchase of new ingredients
• Investigate reasons for waste and identify solutions
• Investigate ingredient shortages before placing new contracts
• Organise review meetings on site with new and current suppliers

Requirements

• Previous administration experience
• Microsoft Computer literate with SAP experience
• Good interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with different stakeholders
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload to meet demands from multiple stakeholders
• Calm and measured approach in an often-pressured environment which often involves working to tight deadlines
• A "can do" attitude and "hands on" approach
