About the role
Pillar & Category Leadership: Take strategic ownership of assigned indirect procurement domains for the entire Japan group.
Team Management & Development: Direct, mentor, and build high-performing teams of Senior and Associate Category Managers within your domain.
Executive Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite and senior executives, navigating matrix organizations to drive consensus and strategic buy-in.
Global Collaboration: Serve as a key Japan leadership lead partnering directly with Headquarters Global Sourcing teams to align local strategies with global policies, governance, and compliance.
High-Stakes Vendor Management: Lead complex, high-value contract negotiations and establish strategic partnership frameworks with key suppliers.
Organizational Transformation: Drive change management to shift domestic business units from legacy decentralized purchasing to a modern, centralized category management model.
REQUIREMENTS (Must-Haves) 【求められる経験・スキル / required experience and skills】 Experience: 12+ years of hands-on experience in Strategic Sourcing, Indirect Procurement, or Supply Chain Consulting
Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading procurement teams and managing personnel (Bucho, Director, or Senior Manager level).
Transformation Capability: Demonstrated experience driving organizational change, centralizing decentralized functions, or building strategic sourcing frameworks from the ground up.
Executive Presence: Strong negotiation, influencing, and advisory skills when engaging with executive leadership.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Nice-to-Haves) Experience within Financial Services, Insurance, Technology, or highly regulated corporate environments.
