About the role
Duties
Reviews contracts, develops guidance and advises management and contracting officers on contracting policies and procedures. Reviews and analysis requests for exception to policy. Publishes informational material concerning regulatory and policy changes that may be derived during the contract review process. Performs research, develops data and interprets pertinent procurement policies. Conducts procurement management reviews, generates after action reports, provides technical assistance and conducts training to improve acquisition practices.
Provides oversight in the content development of NAF contracting courses. Assists in the formulation of the strategic plan, assists other division members, and participates in special projects. Solicits input from DoD field agencies and initiates action to improve the NAF acquisition process.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. All qualification requirements must include experience performing duties equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level.
Must have progressive work experience that demonstrates performance of the duties described above using contracting theories, principles, practices and techniques. Must have excellent organizational skills; be highly skilled in written and verbal communications. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other software as required, and be able to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred are those candidates who possess a bachelor's degree, with a major course of study in a closely related field.
