Process Technician

About This Role

Performing technical tests and experiments for process engineering is the core of this role, which also involves setting up processing equipment and monitoring line operators. This position suits a technician who can process test runs, prepare records for engineering, and provide technical assistance for process development.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical tests and experiments for process engineering
• Set up processing equipment
• Monitor, audit, and provide guidance to line operators
• Process test runs and prepare records, charts, and graphs of results for presentation to engineering to identify yield problems or test new products
• Provide technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel
• Be responsible for the production and process improvement for SMT Printers, Re-flow, Selective Soldering, Conformal Coating, Epoxy dispensing, and BGA rework applications in a low volume and high mix production setting
• Be responsible for the implementation of new products processes by interacting with Engineering, Process engineering, Quality, maintenance and production to increase product yields and initiatives
• Create and validate SMT Printer programs during prototypes
• Support continuous process improvement projects (Process Engineering team)
• Evaluate, troubleshoot and problem solve SMT profiles, product equipment, fixtures and tools
• Develop BGA rework processes
• Work with the Process engineer team in conducting experiments

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
• Experience with Fuji, DeK, MPM, BTU, Juki, VJ electronix, and Ersa equipment
• Understanding of Quick Turn/ New Product Introduction
• Knowledgeable in IPC, ISO Standards
• Experience on Lead Free Profiling
• Ability to read and write with a degree of proficiency
• 2 years associate degree in a related field
