Private Investigator / Insurance Field Investigator

About This Role

This field investigator role involves conducting various investigative services for an insurance claims adjusting firm, working on behalf of insurance companies, law firms, and municipalities. The position requires heavy travel and field work within the Southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania region, and suits an experienced, self-starting individual with strong investigative and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive surveillance investigations
• Obtain quality surveillance video evidence
• Contact loss parties within a set timeline
• Conduct kinesthetic interviews of insureds, claimants, and witnesses, which may result in bodily injury assessments and settlements
• Canvass for witnesses
• Conduct accident scene investigations
• Write accurate and detailed reports within a set deadline
• Provide deposition and courtroom testimony as requested
• Complete accurate daily time, expense, and mileage reporting

Requirements

• Ability to work independently with little supervision; self-starter
• Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and prioritization skills
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to address difficult situations with tact and diplomacy, but be able to elicit the information required for investigation
• Ability to work closely with a wide variety of team members
• Computer literacy to include Microsoft Word and email
• Ability to work flexible hours including long hours, weekends, and some holidays
• Clean driving/criminal records
• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Must possess a vehicle suitable for surveillance
• New Jersey and/or Philadelphia Private Investigator license a must

Nice to have:

• 2 years
• Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or related field or Law Enforcement Experience
• NY Independent insurance adjuster license
• New Jersey Notary
• Bi-lingual/Spanish speaking a plus
