Printing Press Technician (Commercial Printing)

About This Role

Working with machinery, solving problems, and staying active are key aspects of this hands-on manufacturing role as a Printing Press Technician. You will operate and support large commercial printing presses that produce millions of direct mail advertising pieces. The position is in a clean, climate-controlled production facility and offers a stable career path with opportunities to learn valuable technical skills and grow with the company.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor large commercial printing press equipment
• Set up paper, plates, ink, and other materials needed for production
• Monitor print quality throughout production and inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Perform routine machine adjustments and basic preventative maintenance to maximize production and minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and notify Senior Press Technicians of more complex repairs
• Assist with press changeovers and production setup
• Maintain clear communication regarding equipment performance, quality, maintenance, and production concerns
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe while following all company safety procedures
• Work closely with teammates to meet production schedules and quality expectations
• Participate in our paid VMC Progression Program to develop new technical skills and advance your career

• Previous experience in manufacturing, machine operation, warehouse production, commercial printing, or another industrial environment
• Commercial printing or heat-set web press experience

Important Details

• Physical requirements: Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift; lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds; climb ladders and work safely at varying heights; work around large production equipment and moving machinery; work in a noisy manufacturing environment where hearing protection is required
