Principal System Administrator

About This Role

This Principal System Administrator role involves providing IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment, supporting SIPR and other information systems. The position requires working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment, utilizing troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems, and managing virtualized environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment supporting SIPR and other information systems
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity, including the integration of hardware and operating systems
• Manage virtualized environments
• Utilize experience with Windows Server internals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods
• Utilize experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption, and server management tools
• Utilize experience in data backup and restore, using industry best practice
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements
• Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
• Work effort beyond standard work hours may be required as systems are operational 24x7
• Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Windows and/or Linux experience
• Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, networking administration experience

Nice to have:

• An Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance
• Experience with Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
• Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)
• Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
