Principal Product Marketing Manager, QuickBooks

About This Role

This strategic leadership role is for a Principal Product Marketing Manager to join the QuickBooks Small Business Marketing Team. The individual will deeply understand why businesses choose QuickBooks products like Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus, and translate that insight into prioritized, evidence-based direction for the product development teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product to define the multi-year strategy for core QuickBooks
• Set the strategic direction for Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus to win, shaping long-term competitive position and growth
• Establish what it takes to win the job, not just the customer, by building a deep view of accounting and operating workflows across core offerings
• Benchmark against competitors and non-FMS alternatives to complete the same jobs, and turn that into capability bets for customer retention and growth
• Shape the roadmap at the strategic level by partnering with product leadership to prioritize around key bets for long-term competitive position
• Drive cross-functional alignment by acting as connective tissue between product, marketing, and executive stakeholders
• Ensure alignment on strategic direction and key decisions across teams owning pieces of the core experience
• Build the business case for the future state by developing insights and narratives to support the direction of core QuickBooks
• Present the point of view to senior audiences
• Set the bar for the experience customers already pay for by defining what good looks like for foundational capabilities
• Hold the organization to the defined standards through the Foundations agenda

Requirements

• BA/BS required, MBA preferred, or equivalent work experience
• 12+ years in product marketing, product strategy, or management consulting, with a demonstrated track record of owning multi-year strategy
• SMB SaaS experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated depth in workflow or capability analysis, able to take a product apart at the job level and show where it fails the customer with evidence
• Proven ability to define and defend long-range strategic bets using market intelligence and customer insight, with the judgment to sequence them pragmatically
• Experience working directly with product management teams, including influencing roadmaps owned by others
• Demonstrated track record influencing stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organization
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with comfort presenting at executive business reviews
• Demonstrated ownership, independent judgment, and comfort operating in ambiguity
• Fluent in a range of AI tools with demonstrable experience incorporating them into your workflow
