The Role:
- HSE: Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental standards and support the Zero Harm programme.
- Product Safety: Identify product safety risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Quality: Drive a Right First Time, zero-defect culture and support quality investigations and NADCAP requirements.
- Delivery: Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to achieve Right First Time delivery, using SPS, DMAIC and Systems Engineering tools.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve complex issues across engine build, balancing, machining, in-situ repair and component repair processes, including equipment and tooling.
- Cost: Support productivity improvement and achieve cost targets, including reduction of Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ).
- Standards: Deploy and maintain manufacturing standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Technical Authority: Define manufacturing engineering requirements and make technical decisions within the assigned area.
- Lean & Improvement: Lead process improvement, innovation and best-practice initiatives to enhance manufacturing performance.
- Capability & NPI: Support production readiness for new capabilities, develop data-driven process monitoring and maintain technical packages, tooling and manufacturing documentation.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of high-bypass gas turbine engines.
- Good knowledge of material and component repair processes, including welding, machining, painting, and coating.
