About the role
A typical working week for this role will consist of delivering solutions for our clients, whilst furthering your knowledge and professional development, in the field of responsible consumption covering sustainable value chains, circular economy and sustainable resources and waste management. You will be involved in leading and providing support to clients across a wide range of resource and waste management themes, and clients, with a range of projects that could include: This role will deliver commercially informed advisory services across sustainable value chains, circular economy, sustainable resources and waste management. You will combine sector understanding with strong commercial and financial analysis to support investors, lenders, operators and public-sector clients in evaluating assets, businesses and strategic opportunities. Assignments will include technical and commercial due diligence, business-plan and financial-model review, options appraisal and the preparation of clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations. Projects could include:
- Technical and commercial due diligence for assets, businesses and investment opportunities in circular economy, resources and waste management
- Review of business plans, investment cases and management forecasts, including challenge of underlying assumptions
- Development, review and validation of financial and cost models, including revenue, demand, CAPEX, OPEX and lifecycle-cost assumptions
- Scenario, sensitivity, benchmarking and cost-benefit analysis to test downside resilience and value drivers
- Market, competitor and value-chain analysis, including demand, pricing, regulation and commercial positioning
- Preparation of concise, client-ready due diligence reports, business-case reviews, presentations and recommendations that clearly articulate risks, opportunities and key sensitivities
We’d love to hear from you if you have
- Experience in commercial, transaction, infrastructure or investment advisory, ideally within sustainable resources, waste management, circular economy, environmental services or related infrastructure sectors
- Demonstrable experience supporting technical and commercial due diligence and reviewing business plans, financial projections and management assumptions
- Strong financial and cost-modelling capability, including revenue, demand, CAPEX, OPEX, cash-flow, scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Ability to review and challenge management forecasts, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and form an independent evidence-based view
- Excellent analytical, research, report-writing and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and financial information into clear commercial insights
- Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to manage and deliver several projects at once
- A methodical approach to problem solving and a high level of attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with multidisciplinary technical, sustainability and financial teams
- An undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, engineering, environmental science, sustainability or another relevant quantitative discipline
- Relevant professional qualification or progress towards one, such as IEMA or CIWM, would be advantageous
Mandatory Skills
- Experience in technical and commercial due diligence, business-plan review or transaction/investment advisory
- Strong financial and cost-modelling skills, including model review and validation
- Ability to assess revenue, demand, CAPEX, OPEX and lifecycle-cost assumptions and forecasts
- Advanced spreadsheet and quantitative-analysis capability, with strong attention to transparency and auditability
- Strong client-ready report writing, communication and presentation skills
Desired Skills

Experience in circular economy, waste management, recycling, resource recovery, environmental services or sustainable infrastructure; familiarity with UK and international environmental regulation; and a relevant professional qualification or membership

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, environmental science, sustainability or another relevant quantitative discipline.
