About This Role
Providing attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to children is the core of this teaching role at Oxford Early Learning Center. The Preschool Teacher creates a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where children can learn, grow, and develop age-appropriate academic, social, emotional, and self-help skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to children throughout the day
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans
- Support children’s cognitive, language, social-emotional, physical, and creative development
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Follow daily schedules, classroom routines, and center policies
- Supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate classroom ratios
- Encourage positive behavior, cooperation, independence, and problem-solving skills
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding their child’s daily experiences and development
- Complete required classroom documentation, attendance records, daily reports, and child observations
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, administration, and support staff
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, classroom preparation, and center activities
- Follow all applicable childcare licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and Kids First policies
- Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, handwashing, nap/rest time, transitions, and other daily care routines as needed
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere where every child feels welcomed, supported, and valued
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young children preferred
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) experience or education preferred
- Must be dependable, responsible, patient, and compassionate
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a busy childcare environment
- Must meet all applicable childcare licensing and employment requirements
- Age Requirement: 18+
