Job Summary
The Director of Simon Says Early Childhood Center at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church provides overall leadership and operational oversight of the center, ensuring high-quality early childhood programming aligned with Catholic values. This highly visible role is responsible for daily operations, staff supervision, program development, compliance, and financial management while fostering a safe, inclusive, and faith-centered environment that supports the spiritual, emotional, and academic growth of all children.
Leadership & Administration
- Provide overall direction for center operations, staff, and programs
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures ensuring safety, quality, and compliance
- Oversee daily administrative functions, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Promote alignment with Catholic values and the center’s inclusive mission
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and parish leadership
Staff Management
- Hire, train, and supervise teachers, aides, and administrative staff
- Provide ongoing professional development and performance management
- Foster a collaborative, positive work environment
Program Development
- Lead development and implementation of curriculum supporting spiritual, social, and academic growth
- Ensure programming reflects Catholic teachings and inclusive practices
- Create opportunities for family engagement and faith-based participation
Financial Management
- Develop and manage budget, monitor expenses, and track revenue
- Oversee tuition billing and fee collection processes
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal early childhood regulations
- Maintain licensing records, staff credentials, and inspection documentation
- Implement safety procedures and emergency preparedness protocols
Community Engagement
- Build relationships with families, parish members, and community partners
- Represent the center at parish and community events
- Promote enrollment and program awareness
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in early childhood education, including 2+ years in leadership
- Strong administrative, organizational, and financial management skills
- Knowledge of Catholic teachings and ability to integrate faith into operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of early childhood regulations and licensing requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
