About This Role
Preparing customer artwork for flexo and digital print production is the core of this Pre-press Operator role. The person ensures files are accurate, technically correct, and ready for efficient manufacturing. Working closely with production, customer service, and wider pre-press teams, this role helps maintain high standards of print quality and ensures jobs move smoothly through the business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and check artwork for flexo and digital printing
- Use PACKZ software for artwork preparation, trapping, colour separation, and file optimisation
- Review supplied artwork and identify potential print or production issues
- Prepare print-ready files, step-and-repeat layouts, and associated production files
- Manage colour separations, trapping, overprints, and technical print requirements
- Liaise with production and customer service teams to resolve artwork queries
- Ensure artwork complies with customer specifications and internal quality standards
- Maintain accurate job records and pre-press documentation
- Support continuous improvement across the pre-press and production process
Requirements
- Previous experience in a flexographic printing pre-press environment
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience with PACKZ software
- Good understanding of flexographic printing processes and requirements
- Experience with colour separation, trapping, screening, and print-ready artwork preparation
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a busy manufacturing environment
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production and customer service teams
- Strong commitment to quality and accuracy
