Prep Cook

About This Role

Preparing ingredients and supporting the line to ensure smooth, high-volume service is the core of this Prep Cook role. You will set the stage for chefs to execute dishes flawlessly, from chopping vegetables and portioning proteins to making sauces and ensuring stations are ready. This position requires speed, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients according to recipes, portioning standards, and prep lists
• Maintain organized and stocked stations to ensure the line operates efficiently
• Assist chefs with mise en place, including chopping, slicing, peeling, and measuring ingredients
• Support the kitchen team during service by quickly restocking and delivering prep items
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
• Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, tools, and equipment
• Adapt quickly to the needs of a high-volume kitchen while maintaining accuracy and quality

Requirements

• Strong knife skills and basic culinary knowledge
• Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately
• Team-oriented, reliable, and proactive
• Physical stamina: able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• E-Verify Requirement: Arizona mandates that all employers use the E-Verify system to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires

Nice to have:

• Previous kitchen experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant
• Previous experience as a prep cook in a high-volume or fast-paced kitchen
