Responsibilities
- Configure and operate manual lathes and milling machines to achieve precise component specifications.
- Analyze complex engineering blueprints and technical documentation to guide production workflows.
- Verify dimensional accuracy throughout the fabrication process using advanced inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
- Optimize production efficiency by selecting the best tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies for each project.
- Perform proactive equipment maintenance to ensure consistent machine performance and reliability.
- Maintain a high-standard, organized workspace while adhering to all safety protocols to ensure a secure environment.
- Collaborate with the team to refine machining methods and improve overall shop throughput.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience operating manual lathes and mills.
- Expertise in interpreting detailed engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Proven ability to hold tight tolerances consistently in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Solid understanding of feeds, speeds, and material properties.

- Experience in a fast-paced job-shop setting.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues independently.
- Strong mathematical aptitude for complex dimensional calculations.
