About the role

A day in the life

When you arrive at our Ogden, UT facility, you’ll check the day’s priorities with the Supervisor of Maintenance and then head onto the floor—fully onsite, hands-on, and central to plant reliability. Your morning might start at a milling machine fabricating a replacement shaft, move to diagnosing a noisy blower, and wrap with updating preventive maintenance records after a round of inspections.

What you’ll tackle

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment by interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance: visually inspect machinery and process equipment, spot worn or faulty parts, and document everything in PM logs.
  • Repair and rebuild pumps, valves, blowers, compressors, vessels, conveyors, and other process equipment; fabricate parts or subassemblies as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues to root cause and replace or repair defective components to restore function quickly and safely.
  • Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and machinist tools to make and repair precision parts.
  • Maintain the facility’s lubrication program—oils, greases, and schedules—so assets run smoothly.
  • Work with process systems involving acids and alkalines; fiberglass; plastic and metal piping, fittings, and materials; metal melting and fabrication equipment; and a range of industrial lubricants.
  • Use a full toolkit: hand tools (manual and power), material handling devices, and gas/electric arc welding equipment.
  • Coordinate area work with the central maintenance shop; assist fellow maintenance technicians or engineers on cross-functional jobs.
  • Occasionally provide direction to junior craft personnel and train other craftsmen as assigned.
  • Follow all safety rules, keep the workspace orderly, and return tools, unused materials, and references to their designated locations.
  • Adapt as needed—these are the primary duties, but the role may include other tasks as assigned.

This position is 100% onsite in Ogden, UT and reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance.

What you bring

  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Five (5) years of mechanical craft experience, including at least three (3) years in mechanical industrial maintenance.
