About the role
We are looking for a skilled Pre Litigation Attorney/Lawyer to join a law firm in Tampa, Florida on a Contract basis. This role focuses on guiding personal injury matters through the pre-litigation phase, overseeing case progress from intake through resolution efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters, sound legal judgment, and the ability to manage an active caseload with confidence and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Handle a portfolio of personal injury plaintiff files throughout the pre-litigation process, ensuring each matter moves forward efficiently and strategically.
• Review claim documentation, medical records, liability evidence, and related materials to assess case value and support legal strategy.
• Draft legal correspondence, demands, motions, and other case-related documents with accuracy and persuasive reasoning.
• Coordinate discovery-related activities and organize case information to support negotiations and potential escalation to litigation.
• Communicate with clients, insurers, medical providers, and other parties to gather information, provide updates, and advance claim resolution.
• Develop case strategies that align with client interests, legal standards, and the facts of each matter.
• Monitor deadlines, maintain thorough file documentation, and ensure all pre-litigation activities are completed in a timely manner.
• Active attorney license in Florida and in good standing with the state bar.
• At least 2 years of experience handling personal injury matters, with a strong emphasis on plaintiff-side pre-litigation work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple case files independently while maintaining high-quality legal work.
• Experience preparing motions, briefs, and other legal documents relevant to personal injury practice.
• Working knowledge of discovery processes and case development in personal injury matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and external parties.
• Sound organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced legal environment.
