Practice Manager

About This Role

Planning and running the day-to-day operations of medical practices is the core of this management role, ensuring that business needs are met and actively working to recruit new patients. The Practice Manager oversees scheduling, billing, and collections, and reports directly to the Regional Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day multiple practice operations with commitment to providing the highest quality of service to patients
• Ensure quality support services are provided by implementing and maintaining policies and procedures related to practice operations by providing dermatological services
• Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction and utilize clinical protocols and best practice standards
• Assist with the fill rates for the provider schedules
• Oversee clinical and nonclinical support staff
• Oversee all Human Resources activities for the staff within the clinics, including those related to hiring, orienting, training, disciplining, terminating, performance evaluation, goal-setting, and employee relations
• Provide oversight and direct the daily clinic operations
• Oversee and monitor patient wait times and patient flow, and work closely with clinical support staff, coordinators, and receptionist to enhance these processes

• Support APDerm’s mission and culture of high-quality standards by carrying out applicable policies, procedures and established industry standards, laws and regulations. Examples include adhering to privacy and data protection practices, ensuring a safe workplace, and reporting observed or suspected behavior and actions that do not meet APDerm standards
• Complete all assigned required training by the deadline including, but not limited the Code of Conduct, Privacy & Data Security, and OSHA

Requirements

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, management, staff, patients, and other customers
• Strong capacity to recruit and develop staff
• Excellent communication (both oral and written), organizational and presentation skills
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issues
• Initiative and ability to work independently, lead/work in teams, and deal persuasively and effectively with all levels throughout the organization
• Ability to manage multiple projects in varying stages of development
• Must be innovative and react quickly to new opportunities for improvements
• Ability to effectively handle challenging situations, and to balance and shift multiple priorities
• Ability to support multiple locations, consistently ensure presence at each location
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient and employee information
• Systems skills including Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling, billing systems and EMR
• Complete Administrative Proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Web-based applications, HRIS systems)
• Valid driver's license and willingness and ability to drive to all clinical locations

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or significant management experience in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience
• Multi-clinic location management
• Knowledge of Athena, Epic, EMA EMR systems
