Database Developer / Administrator PostgreSQL
Role Overview
We are looking for a Database Developer / Administrator with strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL DBA + Development. The ideal candidate should have expertise in database performance, SQL development, backup/recovery, schema design, migration, and Time Series Databases, preferably QuestDB. Experience in high-throughput, real-time environments will be highly preferred.
Work Profile / Responsibilities
- Manage and develop PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies and execute database recovery procedures.
- Develop complex SQL queries, functions, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Design and maintain database schemas and Physical Data Models (PDM).
- Work on database migration, upgrades, and data movement projects.
- Manage and optimize Time Series Databases, preferably QuestDB.
- Support high-volume, high-throughput and real-time data processing environments.
- Monitor database health, capacity, performance, availability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with application developers, architects, DevOps, and data teams to optimize database solutions.
- Identify database issues and implement proactive performance and reliability improvements.

Experience
- 510 years of overall database experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL DBA + Development.
- Proven experience in performance tuning and complex SQL development.
- Experience with backup/recovery and database migration projects.
- Exposure to QuestDB or other Time Series Databases.
- Experience working with high-volume / real-time applications is preferred.
