Machines in Motion Laboratory

The Machines in Motion laboratory at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Post Doctoral Researcher/Post Doctoral Associate to join an exciting project on model predictive control with force feedback. New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering, located in Brooklyn, has the distinct history of having been known previously as Brooklyn Poly and the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering.

Candidates will be responsible for conducting scholarly research, writing papers, helping mentor students, and performing work in a multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will conduct research on high frequency model predictive control using force feedback.

Tandon faculty and students are at the forefront of the high-tech start-up culture in New York City and have access to NYU’s Global Network University. We are seeking individuals with a strong background in model-predictive control and a publication track record in top robotics conferences and journals. Previous experience of numerical implementations of optimal control solvers for high frequency control of complex robots is necessary. We welcome applicants from recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Eligible candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
