Title: Principal Portfolio Manager

Location: Beaverton, OR

Duration: ~4.5 months

Pay Range: $60-64/hr. on W2

Job Description:

  • Lead portfolio planning and operating mechanisms, including monthly business reviews, annual and quarterly planning, and forecast reviews.
  • Synthesize portfolio status, outcomes, risks, dependencies, and decisions into executive-level reporting.
  • Align priorities, sequencing, capacity, investment, and expected outcomes across a complex technology portfolio.
  • Facilitate prioritization, scenario analysis, and investment discussions.
  • Govern annual, quarterly, and longer-range planning processes.
  • Establish consistent portfolio intake, criteria, decision rights, and governance.
  • Connect Supply Chain & Planning Technology (SCPT) with broader Global Technology portfolio teams.
  • Partner with Portfolio, Product, Program, Engineering, Finance, and Business stakeholders.
  • Improve portfolio reporting, tooling, data quality, scenario analysis, and automation.
  • Use automation and AI-enabled tools to improve portfolio management speed, accuracy, and insight.
  • Drive adoption of improved portfolio practices and support measurable business outcomes.

Job Functions:

  • Lead strategic technology portfolio planning and governance.
  • Coordinate annual, quarterly, and continuous planning processes.
  • Facilitate prioritization, sequencing, capacity planning, and scenario discussions.
  • Develop executive portfolio reporting, recommendations, and decision materials.
  • Monitor portfolio health through KPIs, financial data, capacity, delivery status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Establish portfolio intake processes, governance structures, decision rights, and operating rhythms.
  • Conduct actuals vs. forecast reviews and support investment planning.
  • Identify portfolio risks, dependencies, capacity constraints, and mitigation opportunities.
  • Connect strategic priorities with investment, capacity, execution, and outcomes.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Business Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between SCPT and broader Global Technology portfolio organizations.
  • Improve portfolio tools, reporting platforms, data quality, and accessibility.
  • Apply automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and modern reporting solutions.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, workshops, meetings, and executive decision forums.
  • Influence stakeholders across organizational levels without direct authority.
  • Drive change management and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure portfolio practices support strategic and business objectives.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology portfolio management, strategic planning, technical program management, business operations, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a large, matrixed technology organization .
  • Experience leading portfolio planning, governance, prioritization, executive reporting, and decision forums.
  • Experience with annual, quarterly, and continuous planning processes .
  • Experience with portfolio health reporting, KPIs, risk/dependency management, scenario analysis, and investment or forecast views.
  • Experience working with financial, capacity, delivery, and outcome data.
  • Experience partnering across Product, Engineering, Program, Finance, Business, and Portfolio functions.
  • Experience facilitating executive meetings, planning sessions, portfolio reviews, and decision forums.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience improving portfolio practices, governance, and operating processes.
  • Experience with portfolio/work-management and reporting tools.
  • Experience using automation, AI-enabled tools, or modern reporting capabilities preferred.
  • Experience working across geographies, cultures, and time zones preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Preferred: Experience in supply chain, planning, retail, or enterprise technology portfolios .
