Portfolio Manager

About This Role

This role involves leading the strategic growth of ScreenRant, one of Valnet's major entertainment brands. The Portfolio Manager will oversee revenue growth, operational optimization, and team leadership within the entertainment brand portfolio. This position is suited for an experienced leader with a background in media management, strategy, or P&L management, who has a strong affinity for the entertainment industry.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement strategic plans to maximize ScreenRant's performance and growth
• Lead teams to align vision, drive initiatives, and optimize brand positioning in the entertainment sector
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue streams across multiple channels, including programmatic advertising, direct sales, and affiliate marketing
• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to establish strategic partnerships that foster growth
• Develop and monitor financial statements (P&L), ensuring efficient cost management without compromising content quality
• Identify areas for optimization and lead initiatives to improve operational processes
• Oversee editorial direction and ensure content strategies are data-driven, audience-centric, and aligned with long-term vision
• Monitor market trends and competitor performance to maintain a competitive advantage
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance
• Coach brand managers, set clear expectations, and provide regular feedback to support their professional development
• Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to analyze brand performance, track progress, and adjust strategy accordingly
• Produce comprehensive reports for Valnet's senior management on portfolio status, challenges, and opportunities
• Identify and evaluate new initiatives or projects in the entertainment sector that could complement or expand the existing portfolio
• Prepare business analyses, assess feasibility, and lead the development of these projects

Requirements

• 5 to 15 years of experience in roles such as general manager, portfolio manager, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, operations management, or investment banking
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute plans effectively, with a deep understanding of P&L management, corporate strategy, and revenue optimization
• Proven experience in managing and mobilizing teams in both competitive and collaborative environments
• Ability to make firm decisions and produce results under pressure
• Strong analytical skills to analyze market trends, measure brand performance, and make data-driven decisions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and present effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management
