We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated Porter who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized restaurant both inside and out. This is not simply a cleaning position. The Porter plays a critical role in preparing our restaurant for success each day. The work you do directly impacts our guests' experience, food safety, team efficiency, and overall restaurant standards.

Position Summary

As a Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the restaurant's interior, exterior, equipment, and grounds. This role requires someone who is proactive, dependable, physically capable, and committed to completing work thoroughly and on schedule. Porters are expected to complete daily maintenance responsibilities before transitioning to assist the kitchen team during the lunch shift.

What You'll Do

• Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout the restaurant, including dining room, kitchen, restrooms, storage areas, sidewalks, parking lot, landscaping, and building exterior.
• Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance assignments accurately and on time.
• Perform floor care using scrubbers, buffers, and other cleaning equipment.
• Sweep, mop, sanitize, pressure wash, remove trash, and maintain overall facility appearance inside and out.
• Complete preventative maintenance on restaurant equipment safely and correctly.
• Perform minor repairs such as painting, replacing fixtures, and addressing basic maintenance issues.
• Inspect the restaurant each morning to ensure a safe, secure, and guest-ready environment.
• Identify and report maintenance concerns or incomplete closing responsibilities to the Manager on Duty.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
• Coordinate additional responsibilities with opening team members to ensure the restaurant is fully prepared before opening.
• Complete all assigned porter responsibilities by approximately 2:00 PM before going home for the day.
• Respond quickly to complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and small holidays.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, janitorial, or porter experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation practices, and safe chemical handling is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuums.
• Basic maintenance skills are preferred.
• Demonstrates food safety knowledge and follows all company safety standards.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequently bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb, and lift.

• Climb ladders up to 25 feet.

• Lift and carry:

  Up to 20 pounds regularly

  21–50 pounds frequently

  Up to 100 pounds with proper lifting techniques when necessary.

• Work in hot, cold, wet, and outdoor environments.

• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment while avoiding hazards such as slips, falls, cuts, and burns.
