About This Role
Working outdoors, the Pool Technician ensures the safety, cleanliness, and optimal operation of swimming pools and related equipment at various aquatic facilities. This role involves applying mechanical skills and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced setting, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for pool users while maintaining high standards of water quality and equipment functionality.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine pool maintenance including cleaning, skimming, vacuuming, and brushing pool surfaces to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Balance pool chemistry by testing water samples and adjusting chemical levels such as chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and stabilizers to meet health standards
- Inspect and troubleshoot pool equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, valves, and plumbing systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements
- Handle water treatment chemicals safely by following proper procedures for storage, mixing, and application to maintain water clarity and safety
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, chemical treatments, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting purposes
- Operate company vehicles safely to transport equipment and supplies between job sites while adhering to all safety protocols
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about pool conditions, maintenance schedules, and safety guidelines
Requirements
- Proven experience with pool maintenance, aquatic facility operations or related outdoor work environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair pool equipment efficiently
- Familiarity with pool plumbing systems and water treatment chemical handling procedures
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely for equipment repair and maintenance tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or facility staff
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles in a safe manner
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions including lifting heavy equipment, standing for extended periods, and performing manual labor as needed
