Policy Manager (Consumer Policy)

This senior Policy Manager role involves developing, delivering, and implementing key policies to improve the legal services market in England and Wales. Responsibilities

• Run the development, delivery, and implementation of key policies likely to improve the legal services market in England and Wales
• Consider how regulation can promote access to justice for different people and businesses
• Help to develop and implement policy positions
• Ensure requirements strike the right balance between minimising regulatory burdens and protecting consumers from harm
• Use policy techniques, engagement, and proficient project management skills to manage policy development on complex and potentially unfamiliar issues
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including at executive level
• Ensure policy work is evidence-based and embeds consideration of equality, diversity, and inclusion

Requirements

• Clear understanding of the SRA’s regulatory purpose and approach
• Clear understanding of the range of available regulatory tools
