About This Role

The Police Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within the Lake Royale community. This position involves patrolling assigned areas, responding to service calls, and engaging with community members to foster a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security
• Respond to calls for service and emergencies
• Enforce local, state, and federal laws while upholding constitutional rights
• Conduct investigations and prepare detailed incident and arrest reports
• Perform traffic enforcement and assist with emergency response situations
• Engage with community members and provide public safety education
• Participate in crime prevention initiatives and collaborate with other agencies as needed
• Maintain professionalism and sound judgment in stressful situations

Requirements

• Ability to perform law enforcement duties, including patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, and emergency response
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse community members
• Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
• Physical fitness to meet department standards for various activities
• Completion of required basic law enforcement training or eligibility for North Carolina law enforcement certification
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and departmental policies
• Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or degree in criminal justice is beneficial
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
