Podcast Producer

About This Role

This senior role involves taking full ownership of Lumida's podcast episodes, from conception to distribution, ensuring they are produced, found, and watched by a growing audience. The producer will be responsible for the flagship Non-Consensus Investing podcast and any new shows launched, focusing on audience growth, creative direction, production pipeline, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Set the growth strategy for each show, including audience, positioning, release cadence, and 90-day and 12-month goals
• Define and evolve show formats, episode structures, series, and recurring segments
• Write titles, descriptions, and hooks, and direct thumbnails, optimized for YouTube click-through and retention
• Study market trends and YouTube best practices, and test and iterate on packaging
• Hold the creative vision and make final creative decisions on every episode
• Build and manage the guest pipeline: identify, pitch, book, and schedule high-caliber guests, including those with audiences that can bring new viewers
• Research each guest and write briefing documents, question sets, and episode run-of-show for the host
• Prep hosts and guests before recording to ensure sharp, on-brand conversations
• Manage guest relations before, during, and after the episode
• Run recording sessions, including pre-recorded and live formats, and manage the episode from raw recording to final cut
• Direct editing, whether in-house or with freelancers or vendors, focusing on pacing, cuts, audio quality, graphics, and chapters
• Ensure every episode meets the quality bar for sound, picture, accuracy, and brand before publishing
• Document the production process as an SOP for repeatability and scalability
• Own the publishing calendar and publish across YouTube, X, and audio platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.)
• Manage YouTube effectively: Premieres, metadata, chapters, playlists, end screens, cards, Shorts, and community posts
• Work with the marketing and social team to turn each episode into clips, quotes, and promotional assets
• Coordinate with Ram and the brand's social channels to drive the existing audience to the podcast
• Make guest collaboration standard practice: YouTube collaborator invitations, guest restreams, and coordinated posts
• Provide guests with assets and links needed to promote their episode, and follow up to ensure promotion
• Build relationships with other shows and creators for cross-promotion and audience swaps
• Track and report on YouTube Studio, X, and podcast platform metrics: views, watch time, click-through rate, retention, subscriber conversion, and traffic sources
• Use data to make decisions on what content to produce more of, what to stop, and what to test next
