About the role
We are seeking a Platform Software Validation Engineer to drive the safety, performance, and reliability validation of next-generation automotive ECUs. This role focuses on hands-on post-silicon testing of microcontrollers, Real-Time Drivers (RTD), System Timer Modules (STM), automotive Ethernet chipsets, and bootloaders while ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute post-silicon validation on automotive ECUs and evaluation boards.
- Validate hardware peripherals including STM, memory protection units, and interrupt controllers.
- Integrate and verify Ethernet PHY/switch drivers and automotive Ethernet performance.
- Develop and execute bootloader validation strategies, including secure boot, UDS flashing (ISO 14229), and OTA rollback testing.
- Validate Real-Time Drivers (RTD) in bare-metal and AUTOSAR environments.
- Benchmark network throughput and latency using tools such as CANoe, iperf, and packet generators.
- Analyze communication protocols including TCP/IP, SOME/IP, DoIP, CAN FD, and LIN.
- Design and maintain automated test frameworks using Python.
- Develop target-side test applications in C, C++, or Rust.
- Author V&V test specifications aligned with ISO 26262 safety requirements (ASIL B-D).
- Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and embedded debuggers to troubleshoot hardware and network issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Hands-on experience validating and debugging microcontrollers (ESP32, ARM Cortex-M, etc.).
- Experience with Realtek Ethernet transceivers/switches and low-level peripheral timer configuration (STM).
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, HSI definitions, and safety-critical testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and C for embedded software analysis and debugging.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive network testing tools such as Intrepid RAD-Gigastar, Vector VN5610A/VN5640, Keysight IxNetwork, or Spirent TestCenter.
- Experience using Scapy for network automation and packet manipulation.
- Familiarity with Lauterbach Trace32, dSPACE, Vector VT System, or similar HIL/debug platforms.
- Experience configuring low-level registers, clocks, and drivers using vendor-specific tooling.
- Knowledge of code coverage, static analysis, and MISRA compliance tools including Cantata, Parasoft C/C++test, QA MISRA, Helix QAC, or Synopsys Coverity.
- Strong understanding of Automotive Ethernet (100BASE-T1/1000BASE-T1), CAN FD, LIN, and UDS (ISO 14229).
