As a Plastics Extrusion Technician, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing operations by managing complex machinery to produce high-quality plastic components. You will be responsible for optimizing line performance, ensuring consistent output, and utilizing your mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment for maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate extrusion machinery in alignment with established safety protocols and production targets for quality and waste reduction.
- Proactively troubleshoot mechanical issues by adjusting machine settings and components to maintain continuous production flow.
- Drive process improvements by identifying and implementing innovative solutions that enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
- Perform rigorous quality inspections and document results to ensure all products meet strict technical specifications.
- Execute production runs according to Standard Line Conditions and maintain accurate performance reporting logs.
- Utilize precision measurement tools, including calipers and micrometers, to verify product dimensions and consistency.
Required Skills
- Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and schematics.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration.
Preferred Skills
- Direct experience with plastic extrusion, injection molding, or blow molding processes.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting production priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience working with measurement gauges and quality control instrumentation.
