Role snapshot

Success looks like

  • Electrical systems across motors, process pumps, PLCs, and building services operate safely and reliably.
  • NEC-compliant installations and repairs are executed with precision.
  • Preventive maintenance records are complete, current, and actionable.
  • Issues are diagnosed quickly; the right components are repaired or replaced with minimal disruption.
  • Communication with the Maintenance Supervisor is timely whenever irregularities occur.

What you’ll tackle

  • Construct, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment and components across the plant, including material-handling and building systems.
  • Test and repair electrical circuitry to ensure compatibility and safety of all components.
  • Install and service facility electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
  • Perform PM on electrical apparatus, equipment, facilities, and systems; document all activities.
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit; pull wire and make terminations.
  • Repair/replace switches, fuses, breakers, contactors, controls, motors, and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot to component level; repair or change out defective parts.
  • Receive and follow oral and written instructions; escalate issues per established procedures.

How you’ll work with others

  • Coordinate area activities with the central maintenance shop to meet plant priorities.
  • Assist maintenance technicians and engineers; train other craftspersons as assigned.
  • Periodically direct lower-classified crafts personnel to accomplish tasks safely and efficiently.

Tools, hardware, and environment

  • Use test instruments, manual/power hand tools, tube benders, splicing and wire-pulling equipment.
  • Work with wire, contactors, switches, motors, breakers, fuses, and other electrical hardware.
  • Operate within an industrial setting with process equipment and chemicals.

Standards and housekeeping

  • Observe all safety rules at all times.
  • Maintain a clean work area; return tools, materials, and references to designated locations.

Must-haves

  • High school diploma or GED. Trade/technical education in industrial electrical maintenance may apply toward the experience requirement.
  • Five (5) years of electrical craft experience, including at least three (3) years in industrial electrical maintenance.
