About the role
Job Purpose The Planning Supervisor is responsible for translating project plans into executable shop-floor schedules, ensuring timely material availability, monitoring production progress, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve fabrication and production targets. The role serves as a critical link between planning, production, stores, and material handling functions to ensure smooth execution of manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling
- Interpret Level-3 (L3) project plans and convert them into monthly product-wise and shop-wise production schedules.
- Prepare Monthly Fabrication Schedules (FS) for each shop, including projected start and completion dates for all fabrication activities.
- Monitor schedule adherence and identify potential delays or bottlenecks impacting production targets.
Material Planning & Coordination
- Raise material pick slips in SAP as per production requirements and approved schedules.
- Coordinate with Stores and Material Handling teams to ensure timely material availability on the shop floor.
- Track material status and proactively resolve shortages that may impact planned activities.
Work-In-Progress (WIP) Monitoring
- Monitor and track Work-In-Progress (WIP) across fabrication and production shops.
- Generate and share daily progress updates with stakeholders, highlighting production status, pending activities, and critical concerns.
- Maintain visibility of shop-level progress against planned schedules.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Liaise with Planning , Production , Stores, and other stakeholders to review progress and ensure alignment with production objectives.
- Participate in progress review meetings and support corrective action planning for schedule recovery where required.
- Facilitate effective communication between planning and execution teams.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain and update trackers for raised, pending, and completed pick slips for effective internal monitoring and control.
- Prepare periodic reports on production progress, material availability, WIP status, and schedule performance.
- Ensure accurate planning records and documentation are maintained.
